Evan's First Two Weeks

This is Mike guest blogging for Megan as she takes a much deserved break via a trip to the mall.

After two days in the hospital, Megan and Evan were ready to come home. Evan was wide-eyed and looking adorable in his airplane outfit (complete with airplane mittens). Megan looked amazing for having given birth two days before. They were both very excited to leave the hospital and to get home to their family.

On Tuesday, as part of the transition for Luke having a new brother at home, we decided to have a birthday celebration for Evan which included Graeters cupcakes and a gift exchange between Evan and Luke. Luke got a cool new Hotwheels race track and car set for becoming a new big brother. Evan got a soft Lion lovey from his big brother (see pictures below). It was a very fun family celebration.

On Thursday, we had Evan's first visit to Doctor Jenn. We are happy to report that Evan is quite healthy and growing already.

On Friday, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and we went to Drake Park for a picnic lunch. Big Brother Luke just wanted to play baseball with me, while Megan and Evan relaxed in the shade. It was a great day for a picnic.

I took some pictures of Evan in Luke's little rocking chair. We think Evan is particularly cute. I happened to catch him smiling while he slept. Also, we think Evan will grow to love his Lion lovey that his big brother gave him as a happy birthday gift.

Finally, Evan got his first bath last night. He was very happy....for about 5 seconds and then it was a slightly dramatic experience as you can see in the second photo. He typically loves when we just wash his hair, but giving him a full bath was a bit too much for him. Never the less, once he was clean, he was quite content and happy to be dry and back in mommy's arms.
