Good Morning Luke

We had a winter storm last night with lots of snow and ice. Mike stayed home to work and was able to take some video of Luke smiling and grinning. The mornings are Luke's most active time of the day and its so fun to have him starting to interact with us like this.

So many firsts...

Luke is now 6 1/2 weeks old and we've been starting to have some of our first unforgettable moments. Here are a few highlights...

This was actually Luke's first visit to the pediatrician at 1 week. Dr. Jenn (our good friend and Luke's favorite pediatrician) loved seeing Luke for the first time. At his first visit Luke weighed 8lb, 8oz and was 21 1/4 inches, not much change from the hospital. However, last week Luke had his 6 week checkup and he weighed in at 11lb, 1/2 oz and grew an inch.

Our first walk was on January 26, a fairly warm day for January. We were escorted by Lily, Daisy and Papa. It was great to get out of the house and Luke and I are really looking forward to warmer days to come.

One of Luke's newest skills is smiling. It so fun to see his little eyes light up and his nose wrinkle when we're talking to him.

Luke's friend Sam came by to visit. Sam is a year older and wiser and loved sharing some secrets with Luke as they sat together.

Sneak Peek...

Last Saturday we had our first family photo shoot. Melissa came to our home and took some of the most precious pictures! We met her through our friends Scott and Andrea who's little boy Adam was born just three days before Luke. When we saw the pictures that Melissa had taken of their family just a few days after Adam's birth (they are beautiful!) we knew she would do an amazing job for us too... and she did. A Few More Firsts...

We had a few more firsts this week...
1. We had our first night of almost no sleep Monday night. Luke did not want to miss any of the action at our house from 10 pm to 6 am...we all finally crashed from 7-10 am. Luckily this has only happened once...
2. I went shopping for a few hours with Aunt Kate and "Lola" leaving Luke with Daddy for the first time. Everyone did great and I only panicked once when I realized none of us had a cell phone and I had no way to check in on the boys. I'll never forget my phone again : ).
3. We made it to church today and Luke was fantastic. He slept serenely through the whole service and then continued to sleep through lunch too! These were a few pictures we took after church today. We can't believe that he is already three weeks old!
