Goin' to the Chapel...

We celebrated Julie's upcoming wedding with a bridal shower on Saturday. We had a very nice brunch and Julie opened lots of lovely presents. We are looking forward to the wedding on June 14th. Only 6 weeks away!

A gift from Jenny to keep things "steamy."

Luke was a little under the weather at the party. He woke up the night before with lots of nasty congestion. His first time being sick! Luke and Daddy were supposed to leave the house to the ladies for the party, but instead Luke napped in his bouncy chair all morning and Daddy took pictures. Luke may not have been feeling 100% but he still enjoyed lots of attention from his Great-Aunts and Great Grandma Miller!

My New Zooper

After weeks of research I finally found "the perfect stroller." Not only is it light weight and attractive but it has the best sun shade I have ever seen on a stroller. There is actually a napper shade that you can unzip in the canopy and this totally covers the baby. Perfect for my fair skinned little guy. Not to mention it also comes with a UV shade, all weather cover, and "baby boot" for cold weather. I could hardly wait to try it out when it arrived...luckily it was a good day for a walk. I love it and I think Luke does too!

Nana suggested we take a picture of Luke and Daddy because they looked so nice together both wearing gray and blue...so, here it is! Don't they look cute together! I think so ; ).

We Are Famous!

Play Time

We have so much fun playing with Luke! He is such a calm and happy baby we love the new ways that he is interacting with us. We have really sweet "conversations" together and he coos to his toys and "the baby in the mirror." In these pictures he is starting to explore his activity center. I am amazed at how strong he is. He loves to be held standing up in our laps or over our shoulders so that he can see everything. He is just soaking in the world right now! Every new place or person is interesting. He especially enjoyed visiting Nana's school, Madeira Elementary on Friday. He was very good the whole time and Nana (and mommy) were so proud to share him with the staff and kids!

Luke and Adam

We enjoyed dinner with Adam and his parents. Adam is Luke's buddy and was born just three days before him, more great pictures of Adam here. Thanks Scott and Andrea for bringing Adam over to "play." I can't wait for the day when we are watching them run in the backyard together...I think it will be here sooner than we think!

In a few months we may look back and say "Remember when they were so cute and peaceful...just happy to sit together and play?" I have a feeling both boys are going to be on the move as soon as they figure out how to crawl...walk...run!

Back to Work

Monday I went back to my part time job as Willowville's 1st and 2nd grade reading teacher. (Only 37 days to go!) I leave for work at 8 AM and pick Luke up (promptly) at 12:30 each day. Getting to him so quickly means walking out the door at school as soon as I finish teaching...something I have never done before! The mornings at school go quickly and it's fun to be back with my students and other teachers. Still, I miss my mornings with Luke and we are both still getting used to the new schedule. Luke is not so sure about taking a bottle for his mid morning meal...hopefully this will improve soon.

I have been very anxious about my return to work so on Monday Mike stayed home to help me transition back. We decided to plan a "family outing" so that I would have something to look forward to after my first day back. In the afternoon we took Luke to the Krohn Conservatory. It was a gray day outside, but in the conservatory we felt like we were in the tropics. The flowers were beautiful and we're looking forward to going back in May to see the butterfly display...they bring in thousands of butterflies. So cool!

It was a great to spend time together after my first morning away from Luke. On the drive home we started planning more "family outings"...so fun to think about all the places we want to take Luke! We are going to enjoy Spring and Summer.

Doesn't this look like the flower from Horton Hears a Who? It is actually from the "powder puff" plant. I think it was my favorite!

Luke took a nice long nap while we a walked through the exhibits.
